Big D’s Smokehouse

“A South-American inspired restaurant specializing in Southern style classic bbq pork ribs.”

“Slow cooked ribs cooked to perfection” – Big D’s

Weekends are always the best times to relax and enjoy after a long tiring week at work,  plus the traffic’s just getting worse everyday, making us just to want to sleep the night. So, the weekend is always something we look forward too.
Our weekend would always start with a good place to eat and we’ve been wanting to try out the new hangout place at Eastwood called Big D’s Smokehouse.
We got there past lunch time and we happened to be the first customers. Well, the restaurant catered the night foodies as they offered booze and heavy meals that go great with it, but what the heck! we were craving for ribs and we just had to see for ourselves if their ribs are really cooked to perfection!
Mushroom Soup – Php98.00
First on our list was a delicious bowl of Mushroom Soup. I just had too, even though the weather was warm that day. Was it worth ordering? I can definitely say so! It was creamy and had chunky bits of mushroom in it. The serving was big, so I could say it was good for two already.
Next, while watching the game of FEU vs NU basketball, we ordered a basket of onion rings to munch on. Onion rings are always a must try for us and as for this one, I guess it was a little bland for our taste.

Then, the star of the day, a slab of their Stage 2 Ribs Duo. It’s served with a cup of rice with toasted garlic on top and 1 choice of side dish. We decided to go with mashed potatoes.
When we think about ribs, it’s mainly meat with a lot of bones. So, we thought it was time to get our hands dirty and get those bones free of its delicious and tasty meat. We were wrong, you didn’t even need a knife to cut through the meat, it simply separates and with every bite it just melts in your mouth. It was moist and had a sweet and tangy barbecue taste and was a great pair with the mashed potato that was also a winner.

Definitely, binging at its finest!
Iced Tea Carafe – Php110.00
It was quite early to pair the ribs with a cold glass of beer so instead we ordered a pitcher of their ice cold Iced Tea Carafe. By the way carafe simply means a pitcher with no handles haha.
Big D’s is a really great place to hangout with friends especially on game nights as you can catch it by the bar area of the restaurant. If you rather just want to catch up on stuff with each other, they have a second floor perfect for small gatherings.

The interiors look amazing; very cozy for me. I was wishing this would be somewhere around Makati but… huhu! It’s all the way in QC! Already too far for me. But maybe when I’m around the area, I hope to remember to visit this place.
