NIU by Vikings

Buffets always seem to excite us because it’s just a room full of a variety of dishes but then we don’t really have the stomach to savor every single dish hahaha! So usually, the best time that we usually go to a buffet is during a special occasion and I requested that we give it a try at NIU by Vikings on my birthday. Not just because it’s new but it had dishes which can be a little pricey in other restaurants and this is the chance to try it out.

So last October, Tim and I celebrated my birthday at NIU by Vikings and I can say it was worth every penny. They really had entrees that are pretty unique to our palates  like the fois gras, which is duck liver (an ingredient we usually hear only in a Masterchef show haha) and I must say it taste good, it doesn’t have an after taste or grainy feeling but simply melts in your mouth!

Our ultimate goal in a buffet is to load up on fresh Salmon Sashimi and Baked Oysters! and that’s just about it! haha just kidding, we also tried out the other dishes especially the meat section for Tim who loves his proteins. They also have sections with a specific cuisine like the Chinese station that has a wide variety of dimsums and another is the Italian station with all sorts of pizza flavors and a whole lot more.

Other than their main courses, they also offer appetizers such as salads and a variety of bread and of course my ultimate favorite after lavishing myself with the main course is dessert! The cakes were, meh.. nothing unique to it. They also offer al sorts of fresh fruits and oh!! They also have not 1 but 2 kinds of chocolate fondu! Time to do some marshmallow dipping! Though out of all the desserts displayed the best is their ice-cream, it’s creamy and silky and always great for a second, third, forth helping!

Before I forget, they also have drinks from different flavored iced tea and hot tea, for those that need to rest first before jumping in to the buffet table the third time around haha. You can also order cocktails from the bar or have a go with their selection of wine. IMG_0067

Overall, the experience of dining at NIU by Vikings was great and because we enjoyed it, we went back and this time with Tim’s family to celebrate his birthday! Oysters!!

Before we forget to mention, they don’t have birthday promos or discounts. Yeah pretty sad! but hey, we enjoyed the food so much it was worth it! They accept walk-in’s but better reserve first because the place gets really full!

We visited this place during Blogapalozza event at Aura. Actually, at that time, there’s not much food because of the tours.

We did hear about that and we were skeptical at first to try out the place. Then when we decided to try it out, I guess they’ve added a few more in their menu and we were pretty much satisfied except for the desserts though hehe 😀

My family does not really eat too much so we do not go to buffets. I finally got to taste the regular Vikings buffet in the MOA area, and was underwhelmed with the food quality. Now this is a more high brow buffet you are describing in a more exclusive mall, I am curious to try this out. How much more expensive is it compared to the regular Vikings buffet?

Now this makes me give in to the invitation of my girlfriend to have a dinner at Vikings. She keeps telling me to visit this one before, but every time we go out, we miss to go to Vikings. Perhaps, we’d really be going out for Vikings alone. 🙂 and try these…

It’s really worth the try, a little more expensive than Vikings but it seems worth it 🙂

Oh my, buffet! Do they have breakfast food in the menu? I love breakfast buffet with the bacon, sausages, cereals, fruits and the likes. The salmon tempura and baked oysters look yummy, btw. Great photos!

That place is so classy and stylish, it has such an aristocratic look like only the elite people dine there, I love red velvet cake and my mouth is watering at the look of these awesome temptations there! You are so lucky to be able to visit and enjoy the luxury there!
